Andrew ‘Moondog’ Mooney Andrew Cochrane Mooney (born June 17, 1990), nicknamed "Moondog" is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Las Venturas Bandits of Minor League Baseball (MiLB). He has played in MLB briefly for the Los Santos Corkers. Amateur career Mooney is from Whetstone, San Andreas. He attended Angel Pine High School and played for the school's baseball team. He pitched a no-hitter in his final high school game. Mooney attended University of San Andreas, Los Santos and played college baseball. As a freshman in 2009, he was the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year after he had a 1.68 earned run average (ERA), six saves and 49 strikeouts over 35+2⁄3 innings pitched. In 2012, he underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the 2012 season. He returned in 2013 as a starter and had a 2.02 ERA with 105 strikeouts over 89 innings. After the 2013 season, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Carcer City Killers. Mooney received a second surgery in August 2024 to repair torn ligaments in his left arm. Personal life Mooney and his wife Shelly have two children, a daughter and son, Little Lisa and Little Billy. In December 2016, Mooney was arrested for domestic assault, although the court case was retired and would be dismissed in December 2018 if no further incidents occur. In March 2020, Mooney tested positive for PED (performance enhancing drugs), suspending his season. Mooney travels on a Harley Davidson bike, is often seen on various golf courses in San Andreas. According to a 2024 social media post, Mooney is rumored to be retiring from baseball if a contract negotiation does not meet his demands. In 2025, Andrew was seen with his wife and kids in good spirits. He appeared to be healthier, now out of his cast and working out. He continues to ride his bike around the desert and Red County, sporting a biker jacket—but with no affiliation, and a declining stream of income, he seeks to join up with a biker gang, going to bike weeks, events and gatherings. He recently started building and collecting Harley-Davidson bikes.
